while work on the other side was completed during the pandemics of 2020,
it began on a more personal level in late 2019, when the fragility of life was more pervasive
to mark than usual. however, what began as a study in mortality
was challenged to be something more by living in new york city,
where, for a suspended moment, we were the epicenter of both the covid-19 crisis
and the black lives matter movement – and, as usual, the world looked to us to lead the way.
to rely on his melancholy tendencies would have been easy and predictable,
so we looked for the proverbial crack of light to counterbalance the somber tones of his original vision,
drawing on various cultures, spanning ancient to pop, mark hopes that this latest offering helps you to see the
